Marvelous Materials
Aalto University
A different experience to tell and raise awareness among young people aged 10 to 15 about climate change, through the experimentation and design of bio-based materials to spark interest in eco-friendly solutions.
“Marvelous Materials” is an educational initiative designed to engage and raise awareness among children and young people in the exploration of bio-based materials.
The project takes shape as a guide filled with hands-on experiments that allow participants to observe and understand the properties and potential of sustainable materials through an experiential and interactive approach.
The aim of this project is to introduce younger generations to these topics from an early school age, laying the foundation for a future where sustainability and innovation can move forward together. The guide is designed to walk learners through the experiments step by step, making the project accessible to all young participants, regardless of background.
Beyond its practical aspects, Marvelous Materials also encourages dialogue around the role that sustainable materials can play in everyday life, fostering a more mindful and responsible way of thinking.
Ultimately, the project seeks to combine education, creativity, and sustainability through engaging and stimulating activities, offering young people the tools to imagine and build a future where respect for the environment is an integral part of the design process.
